Life Skills Training 101

Our oldest 4 kids have learned how

to wash, dry, & put away dishes!

I was still REALLY glad when the repair man

fixed our dishwasher!

The things kids get into!

We have a small garden trailer, the kind you pull behind your lawn mower, that had a flat tire.  I took the tire off to get it repaired.  The process took longer than I expected.  After the tire was off I needed to move the trailer somewhere away from the kids.  So the tire was on the garage floor, not being supervised.  ;-)  After I was done moving the trailer I picked up the tire and put it in the van.  I went inside to start supper &  my 4 year old walks in and starts to talk to me.  I did a triple take...and asked him what he did!  He said, "Nothing."  I told him to go look in the mirror.  From the bathroom I could hear him telling me that one of the other kids must have did it to him.  I did a little more "question asking" and found out that he tried to blow up the flat tire after I had taken it off the trailer.

I can't believe she is 8!

 It was a very amazing day!

My very own "drama queen" turned 8 years old today. 

We started the day by letting her open the gifts from us.  She was really hoping for a bug catcher, which she got.  She also opened up her own baseball mitt & balls.  She helped me decorate her cake, which she had waited very patiently for.  When it came time to blow out the candles it took her a while to figure out what she was going to wish for.  I thought the candles were going to burn out! LOL!  She also had to wait for a package from the mailman.  (I didn't think it was coming.)  In the end her package arrived on time!  She was very excited to receive a beautiful pair of pearl earrings from Grandma Silla & Grandpa Chris.  She said that she will save them and wear on her First Communion Day, which is this coming Sunday.

Great Ultrasound Sound Experience!

I was able to get what they call a 4-D ultrasound

today by a great facility!

Our little girl is looking GREAT!

~Fancy Dinner~

My husband & I  attended a License Certification dinner this past Friday night.  He was required to wear a jacket & tie.  I thought it would be a good idea if I tried to "fancy" myself up the best I could.

The dinner was great!  We also enjoyed some great company with a few of his co-workers.

It was nice to get out and talk with other people, not just children under 11!

Another~Birthday~Birthday!

I can't believe he turned 6 today!
I was woke up this morning at 6 AM
"Mom can I open my present NOW!"
At that moment I felt like the worst Mom ever, I hadn't even wrapped it yet!

 Finally it was wrapped.

 He was VERY excited!

 It took him about an hour to put them together!
They are the new Hero's from Lego.

 I made the cake & he decorated it with,
peanut butter M&M's & bunny marshmallows.

 I made him wait until after lunch to have cake.

It took him 4 tries to blow out all of the candles.

So today he turns 10!!

 We started the morning with him opening his present, 

 which kept him busy all morning!

 Then Dad made his cake. 

After the cake cooled, he chose to decorate it with jelly beans!

Mmmmmm!

Then we all sang & he blew out his candles.  

Not sure what he wished for but he was NOT going to tell ANYONE! LOL!

Broken dishwasher = Sparkling sink!

About a week ago I noticed our dishwasher leaking.  Since then we have been doing dishes by hand...UGHHH!  I even bought paper plates to cut down on the amount of dishes that need to be done.

The repair man has been here & needs to order parts.  He said they should be in by Wednesday.

In the mean time I have really started to enjoy the way the sink looks AFTER all of the dishes are washed, dried & put away.  Even though my sink has been super shiny, I still can't wait until the dishwasher is fixed.

Cake & Ice Cream

We had cake & ice cream this afternoon.  She also received a card, in the mail, from Grandma Silla & Grandpa Chris.  They all enjoyed the candy & balloons, that were stuffed in the card!

My Baby Girl turns 2!

Two years ago our baby girl was born!

She is the sunshine I need in my life,

EVERYDAY!

We, as a family, have been through SEVERAL birthdays.  We have tried the HUGE birthday parties, but that seems to be way more $$ than we want to spend.  So I decided that all the kids really need is ONE wrapped gift, a cake or dessert & family to sing Happy Birthday to them.

Somedays

Most days I feel like I wake up and get nothing accomplished for the day.  But then I remember that:

• diapers do not change themselves
• breakfast, lunch & dinner are not delivered
• everybody still needs to be reminded to brush their teeth AM & PM
• nobody can seem to remember which chores they are suppose to do
• laundry needs to be sorted & washed & dried (wonderful husband folds it)
• pants need to be buttoned
• gloves need to be put on
• glasses of water handed out
• movies started
• math questions answered
• spelling tests given
• pj's put on
• kisses & hugs given out several times a day
• plus about 100 more little things I can't think of at the moment

At the end of the day, when I am tucking my six wonderful blessing into bed, I remember WHY it seems like I get nothing done! LOL! I wouldn't change one moment for the way they look at me and tell me they love me, when I am tucking them into bed!

I love the feeling of having a clean laundry room.

Even if it only lasts for a couple of hours!
